Exceptional and rare Hermès scarf (carré) which represents a horse saddle made for generals of the French army at the end of the 19th century.
The saddle was made in leather from Morocco with velvet. The saddle pommel is covered with panther skin, this pattern is repeated on the edge of the scarf.

Specificity : the hand-rolled edges of the scarf are turquoise blue coloured (see photos).
