Beautiful vintage, pre-loved, Hermes scarf named EARLY AMERICA.
Carré – HERMÈS scarf designed by Françoise de la Perrière.

The designer was inspired by popular American arts such as paper cutting.
This art consists of making decorations representing animals or characters appear by folding and cutting the paper.
It was a widespread art in 19th century North America to which young girls devoted themselves.

There are two variations of the EARLY AMERICA scarf, one with the Washington presidential couple in the center and the other (like the one on sale) with a circular design in the center of squirrels.

Dominant colors : pink and camel gradients
First issue in 1976, reissue in 1984.
Pretty rare and highly sought after by collectors (according to the “Illustrated Dictionary of Hermès IV Squares” by Geneviève FONTAN – ARFON editions – Edition 2020).
